My assignment final for the Digital Illustration class, "Care Project" was the assignment.
CARE is a charity fund founded by The One Academy of Communication Design (which is my college).
My concept for this illustration was to use a well known fairy tale/children story to reflect what pollution has impacted us with.
On the top is a polluted "ex-wonderland", where alice is covered with oil spills and have drawn the cheshire cat on her oxygen tank with chalks, with playing cards burning round her. The reflection on the puddle is refflecting the old wonderland.
As for the cheshire cat I used the classic look and Bobby Chiu's interpretation of the cheshire cat as ref, i really like the tim burton's movie version, but i changed the ears a little.
Fullview recommend.

Edit: Thanks alot for the DD! Oh my gawd. Thanks! <3 Anyway, thanks alot peeps! Here I go replying all the kind messages!
It's so easy to go overboard with one illustration like this. But by using the Alice in wonderland setting, and yes with a bit of Burtonism (or is it "Alice madness returns"?). .....and that she hugging the Cheshire cat painted oxygen bottle, you pulled this one trough and more have me looking for one stronger emoticon than
And yes noting that the artist are from Malaysia, I understand the image even better. Since it's from the very country on Earth where they've first clearcut all the jungles of Borneo. And then that island were devastated moved on to slash and burn farming in nearby Indonesia.
So yes, we could indeed have had the wonderland, but as a species we've already screwed ourselves. Sorry for adding this downbeat comment, but this is strongly related to my work where I monitor changes, and trying to figure out which one of a list of pollutants are killing a species I care a lot about.
